Default Another CAM question, yeah I know, shoot me

I have searched and I have found literally too many threads on cams to go thru and get the answer I am looking for.

For those who do not wish to read another "Cam Thread" please skip over and move along.

To the rest, I have a question. More of a "What would you do" thing.
I have a 2012 Ultra Limited with the 103". I have plans to have the cat removed, high flow A/C, cams and opting for a custom tune rather than a tuner.
I already know where I am taking the bike for the cat removal and the custom tune. But am still undecided on what cams to run.

Here is what I want most out of my bike. I want the Best TQ avaliable in the low RPM's as I can get but I still want Peak HP in the 95 to 100 hp range.
I probably will never do anything other than cams, exhaust and breather. I don't see ever needing head work, ect as I think 100hp is plenty for what I need.
Fast is great but I want some major torque down low where it matters most. And I want a dependable long lasting cool running motor.

I have seen so many dyno charts and read so many cam threads that I am no better off than when I had no clue at all.

Basically, I want the absolute best low end torque with the highest peak HP and with a cam that is not "too Hot" for an otherwise stock motor.

They are many options for you. I did the SE255's. Did the work myself, got a tune for my Power commander from Fuel Moto. Works great for me. The nice thing if you do your own work, if you don't like the cams just remove and replace with another set and retune. Good luck with your choice.

Andrews 54H gets good reviews, plus in a month or so they are coming out with a cam designed for stock 103's, could be interesting.

How do you get a custom tune without a tuner?

If all you want is usable , low rpm tq on a otherwise stock engine the SE 255 are a good solid choice.

And you will have to buy a tuner to get a tune. The tuner for our bikes is either a "key" to unlock the ECM to be reflashed with a MAP or a piggy back device to trick the ECM

My Indy has a license from Delphi, he can tune right to stock ECU. I have a flash drive copy of the map if the ECU ever has to be changed or reflashed.

Yes, what Jimmy said.........lol.
Matter of fact, the same guy that did Jimmy is doing mine when I get everything ready.
I did not know it could be done without a tuner either till I heard about Jimmy's bike but now I know.
The idea of having the stock ECU tuned instead of adding another piece of equipment to fail down the road is a HUGE plus to me. Once the cams are in, I do not see doing anything else to the bike that would require re-tuning down the road. So why spend $$ on a tuner and add $$ for a dyno tune on top of it, when I can just get it tuned?
Tuner is not needed for my particular application and needs IMO
