Default Sony radio Problem

I got my Sony radio installed and sounding good, I have been keeping my iPod classic in the tray and it was working until today the radio is not reading the iPod and has a message not supported. Has anyone had this issue and what can I do to fix it

what sony radio do you have? when you turn the bike off, do you take the ipod out or leave it hooked up?

I have the same one. they do say that you shouldnt leave anything plugged in when the bike is turned off (ipod or thumb drive). i made a habit of taking mine out at the end of each ride, but it is pretty convenient and tempting to leave it in the tray.

I have the sony tray marine version had various ipod trouble I started disconnecting the ipod like the directions said. I have a Alpine on my truck it works and controls the ipod much better and you can leave it plugged in.

I had a problem with mine, it would read the ipod but nothing played. I reset the Ipod and it started working fine again. So now I remove the Ipod and turn off my HID when starting the bike.

Yes one of my main complaints is. it will not play in shuffle mode it always wanted to start at "A" or in alphabetical order and I can not get the head unit to go to shuffle mode. After repeated attempts of turning of/on and unplugging ipod I got it in shuffle mode then on last ride when I stop I unplugged ipod and things stayed in shuffle mode. I read that at start up is when things get messed up I guess thats why it warns that some thing is plugged in before it shuts down.
