Default Adding V&H Power Duals - Recalibrate SERC?

So here is the setup -

2011 Harley Electra Glide Classic FLTC
96cu Stage 1
SE A/C
SE R/C
SE Pushrods
HD Clutch Spring
Thunder Cone Slip Ons

I am removing the stock header pipe and replacing it with the V&H Power Duals Head Pipe - I like the look, the sound, and the purported HP/TQ increase on my buddies bike.

With the SERC already dialed in for the setup minus the VH Head Pipe, will it need to be recalibrated when the head pipe is installed, or is the setup going to be fine as dialed in now? And, outside of a slight increase in exhaust noise, what are your real world experiences with upgrading the head pipe to something like this?

I love my bike and those thundercones sound great; I'm just wondering what I'm in for, and what, if anything, do I need to be concerned with regarding the SERC. I really don't want to buy the SERC interface kit, or bring it to Harley for a tune if it is not needed.

Thanks - I appreciate any information you can give me

Mike (the guy his neighbors hate at 5am)

If you are replacing the oem head pipe with cats then I would say absolutly yes you need to remap. Going to be moving more air through the system now resulting in leaner conditions. I went from a Gutted oem header and fuelpak to power duals and PCV and wow what a difference.

I forgot to mention the SE245 cams also, if it makes any difference - just need to dick around with the SERC - I had the dealer tune it last time, but I'm sure using it cannot be too difficult (yea I do most of my own maintenance) - of course correct me if I'm wrong lol

absolutly. Money well spent. I run the V&H twin slash rounds in my setup and yeah its loud but not unbearable. Great torque and great sound. Never had a dyno done but the map I am running from fuel moto seems to be spot on.

I'm definitely having it dyno tuned I believe - just found a place nearby that specializes in it - not sure the cost, hopefully not going to get raped - I love the look of that pipe on your bike btw

Definite dyno. You are going to love it. Power duals are the way to go. With the cams, it will wake it from bike to beast, louder, and heat is gone. Low, throaty slip ons make it complete. Enjoy.

I already have thundercones which I LOVE so I imagine it will be a real bear when I open it up ahead of them - I also appreciate the info - I can only imagine a one size fits all map won't glean the max performance the motor is capable of - not that my bagger will ever be a rocket ship but with myself (320#), my girls (120#) and luggage for trips, any help in torque is going to appreciated - I'll report back with the numbers
