I had the combo speedo/tach put on at purchase and last year I added a dead center fairing. The fairing is lockable and detachable. I had them add a oil temp guage a voltmeter and an oil pressure guage to the fairing. I love the tunes and no lowers. It was pricy but cheaper than another bike and still lighter around town than an Ultra. The guys at Dead Center were great to work with.

I ride my Road King to work and Mountain Club Rides. To me it is like a sportster after riding the Limited. But comfortable.

I have put lowers, Chopped tour pak, Riders back rest and a Ultra limited seat.

I have been toying getting a tach but I like the lean look. I can say the wind protection is good with the windshied but there is a bit more than Ultra.

Attached with SE Slip ons and with VH Propipe HO

Take care

I have had 2 Electra Glide Classics and the last a SG. I keep going back to a RK (3rd one) so decided to stay with this one. Just something about more freedom, less cumbersome to ride and simplicity of the Harley experience. Yes, it's a personal thing each of us has to decide. I have gone cross country on both Classic and RK but, still keep going back to the RK. Never even listened to the radio, so I guess I didn't need it. Good luck on your decision.

Smokindave I really like the paint job on your RK. Is that a HD set or did you do that yourself?

You could also buy the 09-11 Softail Heritage bars for like $70 & only need to slightly modify them for the tbw. No cables or wiring to extend. That's what I have on my 08.

very nice bike! I had a chopped tourpak on my last EG and it always looked funny to me in comparison to the king tourpak. The chopped tourpak looks like it was made for the RK.

I attached some crummy pics off my Iphone.

Nope. They are the bars on my bike & come on the 09-11 Softail Heritage. Very nice comfortable bars & inexpensive too.
