Default 2005 SE slip-ons on an '09 UC

I'm trying to put on some SE slip-ons a friend had on his '05 EG and they don't exactly fit. They don't have an indent for the shock bottom and of course they don't have a build-up for the rear mounts so mounted it looks like they'll have about 3/4 of an inch of clearance. Anyone know if this'll be a problem on turns, bumps, etc. I rarely ride 2-up so that won't be an issue.

They also have a longer inlet neck than my Rush slash-cuts but still stop at about the same place coming out the back. The inlet extends beyond the shield and I'm a little concerned the exposed part will blue up.

Of course, the logical choice would be to trade it for a new SE like my friend did. LOL.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
