Angry Please Help! Cruise Control Problem

I ride an 03 Electra classic fuel injected. Its a peace officer bike and has the electronic cruise control.. The cruise light (on switch, red light) comes on and stays on. The first time i rode it, i hit the cruise and it would come on (green light on gauge), but only for a few seconds, and shut off. now i get nothing, anything would help please! thanks in advance,
Jarin Smith

Check the diagnostic codes.

Press and hold in the speedo button turn bike on while holding the button in. The speed gauge will move from left to right and back and the mileage will read diag on it. Press and hold to cycle the codes.

Unplug the switch in the cable by the neck, and check and see if it works, remember you will not be able to disengage the cruise by rolling off the throttle, brake or switch only, if it works, then you need to reset your cable tension and lash.

Thanks for the reply! It seemed to work, and i reset the lash, but how do you really need to readjust the cable tension? sorry about all the questions, new to baggers, fuel injection, and electronic cruise!
