Im about to do a cam upgrade and was thinking if i used my stock pushrods it wouldnt take that much more to just go ahead and go from a 96" to a 103" . I was just wondering what things i need to pay close attention to if i do the big bore kit myself. I dont want to get it together and the thing be burning oil or something like that. Also do is it nescessary to do a oil cooler and compresion with the 103 stage 1 kit?

 

Dont know about compression or oil cooler but here is a basic walk thru for when I did a 88 to 98. Should be able to do in a weekend.

I would suggest using compression releases.

 

Compression releases, and a cooler on a air cooled engine is never a bad idea.
