Default power commander

im asking this question for a friend of mine. he has an 05 ultra with a power commander on it and he want to take it off and go back to stock because he is unhappy with his gas mileage. when he removes the power commander is there a procedure for resetting the ECM or will it reset and adjust itself. thanks for any and all input on this.

It will be exactly as it was before the PC was installed. The PC doesn't change the ECM at all. In basic terms, it simply modifies the signals from the ECM to the Injectors.

Remember that whatever mods he had (possibly hi-flow breather & hi-flow exhaust?)...one or the other will have to go. Will run real hot with both and stock ECM. White tips on the plugs will give the first warning.
