Default Natchez Trace Parkway

I rode about 100 miles of Natchez Trace Parkway today, picked it up south of Nashville. Very nice ride, smooth sweeping curves, very well maintained and NO STOP SIGNS, I love that part. I see it goes all the way down to SW Mississippi almost to Louisiana.

Anyone ride the whole way? Is all of it really nice?

Added: Oh, by the way, I stopped and saw Tom from Kermit Chairs in Nashville. Strong comfortable chairs that fit in a saddle bag. If any one is looking for a chair they can carry with them that can be locked up in your bags, check out the Kermit chair. Just a heads up, I'm not trying to sell anything.

we are going to be riding it the whole way in about a month. The best 20 miles or so of the Trace are the first 20 outside of Nashville.

Rode the whole parkway from Nashville to Tupelo and back to Florence AL in December. Great ride all the way.

I have ridden parts of it on a motorcycle. I always liked the serenity. I drove it from end to end in a MG Midget a decade ago. It was a sweet drive.

The wife and I rode up to Natchez and rode the Trace to Jackson. Since it was only a day ride, we got off the Trace and took the interstate back to Baton Rouge.

It was very nice. Slow and easy. Like was said-no stop signs. Also no commercial traffic is allowed.

We're taking it up to Nashville hopefully later this spring.

Did it a couple of years ago and would like to do it again. No traffic, no stops just 500 miles of slow lazy curves. Beautiful.

It's one of my all-time favorite roadways. Here's a write-up I did last year: Tranquil Trace

Rode some of it a few years ago. It was a very nice ride.

If I remember the rest stops and gas stations are few and far between.

I ride the upper section (Nashville to Tupelo) on a pretty regular basis. There's plenty of "rest stops" along the TN section of Natchez Trace (get a free Trace map). There are no gas stations on the 'Trace. You can leave and get back on the Trace at numerous locations along its entire length. Plan how far you want to go before you stop to get fuel and then get off and go get it. Think about it. If there's no commercial traffic allowed on the Trace, how would a gas station get a tanker in to get fuel for the station?

Some find the lack of commercialization and 50 mph speed limit boring, others find it beautiful and relaxing. I fall into the latter group.
