Hey all, I have an 2006 Ultra. Roade it for about thirty minutes to dinner, ate, left and rode it for 5 minutes. Stopped went into a store, came out and it wouldn't idle. All the way home the bike would die when we came to a stop.

When I got home and got it into the garage, it will now idle. Any idea? Most bizzare thing I've had happen to me on this bike. Also the Neutral light will not come on. Could these issues be related?

It has fuel injection

Could be a sensor issue (CKP) or it might be the IAC stepper motor needs cleaning or replacing.

 

Hey all.

Not sure what happened, but the bike has been running great ever since we got home Saturday Night. I guess it was gas? Injector? Who knows.

 

You may also have a melted wire, and everyonce and a while if it touches the steel, it will short out and give you some grief. could be a tricky one to find, but you never know.

 

06 was the year that had a bulletin on changing injectors, can't remember what the # were.

 

8 degree to 25 degree

 

Is the battery original? Mine went south and caused some strange electrical issues including failure to idle. Also, you might try taking the air filter off and spraying the pintle valve with carb cleaner....you will prolly see black gunk run out. Work it back and forth by flipping the run switch on and off. Take a look in the throttle body and if it looks gunked up hold the idle on the high side and spray it several times....those things helped my issue.
