Really wish I'd have bought a street glide

RE: Really wish I'd have bought a street glide
I have had 2 Sporty's and a Super Glide.
I really wanted a Street Glide, loved the way they looked and handled, but went with an Ultra...
Why, because I know myself too well and I would keep added things to the SG to get it just the way I wanted it adn it would end up costing more than the Ultra I got.
With the Ultra Ijust strippedsome things off to make it perfect for me !
If you do amy type of long distance riding, that is the way to go.
I agree with the idea of looking on Ebay, it will give you a good sense of what is selling and for how much

Detachable windscreen, t-bag and AirHawk seat cushion. You can ride cross country with this set-up, no problem. I didon my WG.The AirHawk cushion is amazing. I wouldthrow it on when my but would start to get numb. I also had custom earplugs to reduce aerial fatigue. I was able to keep up with my buddies who all drove dressers.
This year I traded in the WG (I rode that for 12 years everywhere) for a Road Glide. It's a whole different world. Now I have tunes, comfort and handling.

OK, I was checking out some bikes today . I now realize that a Street Glide isn't for me, I think they're too low. If'n I were to go with a bagger I'm thinking it would have to be an E.G. classic, or standard. It just felt better. But I'm not convinced that I'm ready to give up my Dyna.

Two questions:
1. Is the WG paid for? If it is, then get a detach windshield, bags, backrest, and hwy bars with pegs and go for it. The WG is a great bike.
2. If you want a touring bike, such as the street glide, go ahead and find a Classic or Ultra Classic. You will be glad you did.

I traded my Wideglide for a Streetglide last summer. The SG is definetely more comfortable, but I loved my SG. Everyone is giving you good advise as far as adding a windshield, but DO NOT get the HD detachable. I started with that WS and couldn't see above 60-65 mph because of the wind buffeting. I bought a Wind Vest and the problem was gone. My advise is to look into the Wind Vest.
