Dave helped me with my "Forward" Solo and he was really informative and helpful. Sent me tons of pictures via email to help me with my decision. I don't know about the regular solo seat but the "Forward" is very close to stock position wise. I'm 5'8" with a 28" inseam and I haven't noticed a difference in height at all. If anything it's harder to try to get flat footed because the seat is stiff. With the 2012 frames being wider, I think you'd have to have the seat modified in order to get your legs closer together.

That said, I didn't think the seat would be comfortable at all. It was really stiff compared to the stock seat even with the gell insert. But after logging a couple thousand miles on it, I must say it is much more comfortable than stock. With the added backrest I can ride all day long.

Don't bother with that model Lepera... I had a similar model on my FXD and its for around town only. Looked great, well made, but not for touring. Maybe a different model more for touring.

I am going to pull the trigger on a C&C. I have only emailed them but i wouldn't be bothered much that your conversation with them on the phone seemed off. You were probably hyped up and wanting it all figured out right away and they seem to have a more laid back attitude and wanting you to make sure you get what you want, in the right color thread and all. And some companies like email better then calls and others are vice versa. Good luck on the seat, hope mine is nice and works out too.
