Default ultracool oil cooler

Has anyone other than me been dissatisfied with the Ultracool oil cooler? I installed one on my '09 E-glide before last season. Installation wasn't as simple as it sounded. Modifications had to be made, spacers added, mounts were flimsy, and by the end of the season the thing was leaking at the hose fittings, like a crack had developed. I took it off for the winter and just installed an HD cooler instead. For the $400+ cost, you'd have thought it would have been a better unit.

Welcome to the Forums.

I haven't used that unit, shame that it let you down.

( and yes, let us know if Ultracool comes through with a fix for you of leaves you hanging)

Hope you have better luck with the H-D ( mine is fine).

I know several guys have the same problems as you , that is why I went with Jagg , I posted on some of the issues and was slammed by guys who had bought them saying they had no problems , but later when someone said changes were being made to solve the problems the same guys posted asking if they could get theirs exchanged because they had experienced these problems , forums work best when we all tell the truth good or bad and don't lie just because we bought the item , I'd call Ultracool and see what they will do

I couldn't agree more. My old man used to tell me that very few people will tell the truth about a mistake they made in buying something until they have sold it.

I have had the Ultracool on my 05 for 4 years now, the 2nd year it started to drip at the hose clamps, changed hoses and clamps, next year same drip, put braides hoses on with screw on fittings it has never drip a drop to this day, braided hose and fittings came to about $50

I had a ultracool on my FLTRX, and had oil leak issues also. I made up some stainless lines and no leak at the cooler but developed one at the adapter. Ultra cool sent me the new and improved model, leaked worse than the first. I also had to make mods to get it to fit on my frame and not scar it. Took it off sent it back, got my money back.

I had a heck of a time with the Jagg unit with the AN fittings that screw into the core leaking. I finally had to go with a core with barb fittings or it was going back in the box and back to Jagg. Simplicity in design is paramount or the vibrating engine will cause a problem with leaks. The 10 row was not a cinch to install either. Am I the only one or are the regulator cables too short to raise above the core? I had to take it loose under the frame to get as much slack as possible.

I have the UltraCool on my bike, and haven't had any problems yet, and hopefully I don't have any, but I have not really had it installed long enough to give a good analysis. It's only been on 6 months or so and about 3000 miles, so I think with something like this, it probably needs at least 2 yrs in service to give any real data, on the unit itself and the durability.

I had to splice and lengthen the Regulator cable on my 2012 in order to get it to plug in when I installed my 10 row cooler. I just order a new cable from HD $7.00 and I going to try a new approach because the battery doesn't seem to be charging too well.

I'm not having any leaks, but it doesn't cool as well as I expected. According to the temp stick, I was @ 250* Saturday after riding an hour 2 up at 70 mph. 80* day, but two up is 500 pounds combined.
