Default Need Help! Brake light, cruise issue

I know another one. I've searched the forums and read all I could find related to the cruise and front brake switch issue and I'm still in need. Here's the scoop. Spring Maintenance, took off the right controls to lube the cables. Shimmed the lever as required. Put everything back together. Switch worked, cruise worked, at least for about 100 miles. Cruise then quit and I had folks telling me me brake light was flashing then on constantly till I got home. Dismantled the controls again. No pinched wires and cycling the brake switch with my finger does nothing with the brake light. I think the switch is good, but not sure how to test. Also could there be some other fuse or switch causing the problem. controls were the only item I messed with and everything was fine beforehand. Getting the manual out this evening, but thought someone might have things I could look into. Nothing is ever simple...LOL I have an '07 Roadie...
Thanks

Make sure the two housing are dead tight together. If not the switch for the brake light will be open and the light will stay on and you will have no cruise.

The brake lights on my 06 Ultra were on constantly. Pulled the brake light relay and reseated it and all was good. Just a shot. I was about to start following the troubleshooting chart in the service manual when I tried this.

Thanks for the replies guys! I did all those things, but turns out it was simpler than that. Found a pin hole in the boot for the switch. Sprayed some contact cleaner in there and followed up with some WD40. Worked the switch a few times and bingo! Switch works again. Guess it had gotten some moisture in there thru the pin hole and the switch got sticky. I guess I'll consider it fixed till it happens again, then a new switch for sure. Might even go ahead and order one to have on hand just in case.
