A buddy of mine has an 03 Ultra. I have a set of HogTunes 2 ohm front, rear and tweeter pod that I decided not to use on my 11 Ultra. What would happen if we put the 2 ohms in the older system that uses 4 ohm speakers? Work, not work, fire??
you may be able to wire the tweeter pod and front speakers in the front to equal 4 ohms, if you wire them in series ( if the impedance of the tweeter pod is 2 ohms as well.
I will let you know Mark, these are brand new. He has a radio problem that I need to figure out first. Thought that while I was in there I would upgrade the rest for him.

series wiring is:
radio + to speaker +
speaker - to tweeter pod +
tweeter pod - to radio -

Cant wire the tweeter pods that way.
They have a high pass filter built in them, so the radio hardly ever sees them as a load.
This is why the stock 2-ohm system doesn't get fried because its trying to run a 1-ohm load.
