BOOM Speakers - Goooood!!!!
I just installed my new BOOM Speakers (no amp). Wow. What a difference. When at highway speeds I could barely hear the OEM speakers and had to listen close just to figure out what song I was listening to.
Now - Not a problem. Bass down and treble up really kicks in those tweeters and the sound is clear and easy to hear.
On my last bike I spent about $600 on a "system" and these sound just as good at half the price and no holes drilled into my inner fairing.
Recommended upgrade.

Pastor John, piece of cake, as long as your not afraid to take a hole saw to your tourpak, where the speaker pods connect, took an hour being meticulous, definately a big bump on the bass.

As far as the sound...I can't really say I hear a big increase in bass when riding down the road. There's too much competition from the Rineharts. There's definitely an increase when sitting in a parking lot. I think the biggest value of the Bass Booster port kit is that it allows the speakers to "breathe". Those pods are really small and make lousy speaker enclosures. I think it allows the rear speakers to reach higher volume without distorting because the speaker cones can really move.
Opening the tour pack is kinda like opening the trunk on a car with rear speakers...you can really hear the sound coming through those ports and you can feel the air displacement.
If there were no other advantages, the ports really look cool.
