Default what weight for the tranny?

I have a new, well almost new,, 2011 FLHTC.. with 1700 miles on her,, i changed the oil and used the same oil in all three units, engine tranny and primary. i used the 20/50 super duper synthetic kicks butt and all that stuff oil,,,cost me 100 dollars for the oil change i did myself,,,soo that said, on todays ride the tranny sounds clunky when changing gears and also sounds like excessive gear whine,,,so i am asking what oil weight would be best? 80/90? i have good oil pressure and the engine sounds great and did i read some place you guys are running atf in the primary?
thanks in advance,
Jess in 10AC

THERE is a whole GIANT Thread on that in the oil section HUNDREDS of opinions .

mobile-1v-twin 20w50 is onsale at advanced auto $7.99 a qt .

in the tranny i use mobile-1 75w140 but thats like $18 a quart . but you don't have to change it as often as the crankcase oil.

That Mobil 1 75w-140 is good stuff. I like it a lot. Even better then Redline Shock proof. It is kinda pricey but what the hell. So is everything else.

+1 on the redline shockproof, and I run redline synthetic in the primary as well.
