Default rubber donut

can anyone tell me what the purpose behind the rubber donut on the forks are for. thanks for the info

its the rubber donut between the pinch bolt and the top nut on the forks if you look from your gas tank to your top forks you will see rubber donut not sure the reason for them one on each fork

I know what your talking about, my 05 had it but my 10 dosent, I think it's for harmonics.

I think its for to keep your forks from bottoming out if you hit a big bump or hole.

i thought the same thing tirpitz but that part of the forks dont move

They are fork stops so if you go down your handle bars don't dent your tank or break the headset

i would also add they 'cushion' the fork when you do a full lock turn, either left or right. keeps it from being metal on metal.

some of the motor officers 'trim' theirs down some for when the are doing competition riding.
