Got to work this afternoon and when I started to put the cover on my bike I noticed the CB antenna had departed the motorcycle somewhere between home and work. Does anyone know if the antenna are covered under the extended warranty? If not, would be a good time to get some shorty antennas. Is the dealer the only place to get shorty antennas or can you buy aftermarket antennas?

Unless something catastrophic happened and the mount is definitely at fault, I don't think you're going to get the antenna covered by warranty.

Did it just unscrew and the base is still there?

Your best bet is probably going to be to check with the dealer anyway--someone may have already changed to the shorty antenna, had the dealer do the install, and they may have one lying around.

If not, next option (since you're going to be at the dealer anyway) is to change to the shorty antennas.

 

Thanks Mike. It looks like it just broke off. If they won't fix it, I'll just get the shorty antennas. I think they look better anyway.
