aftermarket fairing w/ apes
Ok I've looked and looked and can't quite find the answer I'm looking for. I have a Woody's fairing on my 09 RKC. I am going to be putting some 14s on my bike when I get back from deployment. I know that most regular bars "will fit" with the fairing but has anyone put bagger bars on a king with an aftermarket? It seems like it would give you a little more room between the fairing and bars at the top... I know it's kind of a generic question but who knows...

Just put 10" PYO MBB on my '10 RK yesterday.
I have a Deadcenter fairing.
I used the MBB instead of the OEM for a couple of reasons.
I wanted the clearance between the fairing and bars to give some flexibility in back and forth adjustment.
I didn't want to have to pull the wires through 2 of those bar angles, top and bottom that the OEM have as opposed to the round bottom bend on the MBB.
After pulling the wires, I definitely wouldn't want to deal with that angle twice.
I'm glad I went with the 10's, with my C &C seat I'm already at least a inch lower than my stock seat so the height is what I was looking for and I'm 6' 1
I think the OEM would be pretty tight up against a fairing.
I will post a few pictures tomorrow.
Wiring the bars was no where near as bad as I was expecting. A RK definitely will require wire extensions.
I was told the 10's would allow me to keep my stock cables which is only partially true. I had to reroute both and my brake is way tighter than I'm comfortable with so I will unfortunately be changing it.

I emailed Paul before ordering the bars, and he suggested the 12" OEM bars for use with my Dragonfly fairing. I had been considering the Monkey Bagger Bars, but I'm glad I went with the ones I did. They are fairly tight to the fairing, but that's not a problem, and I've got my grips exactly where I want them to be. If they were any more forward they'd be over the top of the fairing, which wouldn't work at all.
