I had one little (pin head-sized) spot on the back of my front fender (I didn't see it, but the salesman pointed it out after the sale), the dealer asked me if I wanted them to get it fixed or if I'd accept the $350 that they'd be charged to fix it. I chose the cash.
You need to weight it out... can it be easily fixed or do they need to take off the fender, sand, paint and clear coat it? I would ask for a "free" bottle of touch up paint for the inconvenience.
I just watched the TV special on the V-Rod factory last night, and saw the Quality Control department using those stickers to identify flaws during their inspection process. The show indicated that those bikes went back into the line to have the flaws fixed. Looks like yours may have squeaked by the process without repair.
I think you could make a case that the dealer should warranty any repair necessary, but I wonder if the flaw is significant enough to go through that hassle.
Looks like it is picking out a Quality speck! That is a good thing! You have some high quality specks in your paint! Lol!
Yes I would take it back to them and have them fix it. That is something that is not normally visible when doing the preflight inspection at the dealership!
Bike should not have left the factory without that being fixed, because the quality control inspector found a problem. Check with your dealer, I suspect it will be taken care of.
