The brace/bracket is part no. 91140-04 and it is used on RK Customs, Street Glides, and Road Glides. It ties the saddlebag support bracket and struts to the rear fender. Without it, a large gap appears between the fender and the chrome struts on either side of the fender. I saw a custom paint set installed on a RK Custom at my dealership and the gap was very noticeable; apparently the service dept. omitted installing the bracket when they put the paint set on the bike.

I don't have a pic on the bike, but the tip end goes onto the bolt stud where the bumper was attached under the fender. Then you just attach the ends to the saddlebag supports. It does look like it won't fit when you start putting it on, but mine did.
