I have seen it discussed in the shop manual. It is not anything you are going to accomplish in a couple of hours. It involves removing pretty much everything inside the primary case I think. How many miles do you have on yours? Is it ripped or torn?

I've got 41k on the bike. Belt is good but wanted to know for my own knowledge. The manual isn't very clear on the procedure, at least I couldn't find it. So, if you loose your belt on the road it looks like a heck of a job to repair it even with a belt repair kit.

Which manual are you referring to? Not the HD factory service manual. All the procedures in it are pretty much step by step and clearly written.
If you lose a belt on the road and your name isn't Chuck Norris or Twizted biker, you are in big Poodoo.
I have the Harley service manual for my 09 UC. Couldn't find the section on how to replace the belt. On page 1-27 shows how to check the belt but nothing on replacing the belt.
Easiest way is to extract several hundred dollar bills from your wallet and call your local dealer or indy. That is the blunt truth for anyone who asks this question and if you don't accept the truth, good for you but your in for a bit of work.
