thundermax is what i have and once u learn how to use u will never need to have your bike dynoed unless your just looking for the numbers. and the thundermax does adjust timing.

It has worked well for me as well.

Easy, if you can't get this accomplished you shouldn't even attempt changing oil!

+1 on the Thundermax.

Once I learned the system I love it and don't have to remove my ecm, send it to RP and then reinstall. I adjust what I need on the TM software or download a new map and then I'm off and riding. The TM will autotune the bike to the map.

you only send the ecm in once back in two days and everything else adjust itself. and you still have all features of the factory ecm. thundermax is a replacement ecm so you have to remove the ecm to install yours whats the difference? rev perf even sends you a prepaid box to send the ecm in you remover it box it and drop it off at fed ex. on monday back in your hands on Wednesday pretty easy if you ask me and no downloading , no learning system and it expands with mods without doing anything

I have about 2500.00 to spend
I like the idea of auto tune but so far none of them give me all the adjustability features I want; it eliminates the dependance on a tuning service, they are all a little different with different features, some parameters cant be changed, they tune by O2 feedback to your actual riding conditions, not based on an artificial load. I'm sure there are a lot of competent dyno tuners but a WOT TQ/HP and AF graph does not give you a comprehensive picture of your overall tune condition.
Dyno tune has great potential, but it depends on the opereator, the equipment, and how much money you want to spend, requires return visits for any future changes. Dyno use TQ/HP and A/F feedback.
I tune semi-automatic with an O2 datalogger; maually assess, make adjustments, and repeat as necessary until desired results are achieved. basically the same thing an auto does with a little more user involvement and interface, the interaction forces education on the topic of tuning as well. I can adjust more parameters to my preference. Not dependant on someone elses idea of a "proper" tune.

I'd say you have the best of the three types of tuners there.

Default Xied vs. Dobeck ejk

Did some thinking (hold that).
Bike has Bub stealth 7 slip-ons, I'm gonna add a Ness big sucker and thats it. The bike already came with an Xied instaled. For the stage 1 upgrades would the Dobeck suffice instead? Does anyone have this unit and how does it perform? I think I'd need to remove the Xied anyway.

I have the Thundermax and I really like it. Continuous tuning and much less than what you have available.
