Default Newbie help with sepst

Hey yall new to this forum. not sure if this is the right place to post this so please bare with me...
Been doing a lot of research and finally broke down and bought the SEPST. I didnt do any tunning, it was all done at the dealer.
My bike is an 04 RKC. only add ons are, SE Stage 1 air cleaner kit and SE Slipons with original headers. my questions are...
1. the dealer only got 75.47 HP and 82.15 after using the SEPST and Dyno. does anyone think these numbers are low?
2. How do I actually know that they used the SEPST? (didnt buy the software or cables).
they charged me 210.00 and kept the bike for bout 6 hrs.
not too sure what a stock scooter's numbers would look like but I just think these are really low.
any suggestions? thanks

Default Tuning, Auto tuning..canned maps..

Guys, it seems that no matter what the question is, rather than relate the options, everybody wants to state opinions. A little story here, promise to keep it short.. A friend of mine , used to work at Thiels in Ohio, the home of John Miller Racing, some kind of world record holder. Some of you may have heard of them.. Anyway these guys were renound for builds and tuning..One winter they thought they would get ahead and Dyno tune all the winter's builds..those that were remaining in-house storage.. Now the process usually involves riding after the dyno session, cause you cant ride a dyno, and since it was winter and they couldnt ride them..in the spring they got to retune every one of the builds.. the dyno is a tool, nothing more..It will get you close..however, nothing, due to differing circumstances, build, weight, gearing, etc..is engraved in stone. And remember the old addage..Opinions are like a**holes everybodys got one. Sorry so long, Scooter

They don't need you to buy the software or cables, they already have them. Your numbers are Ok. Take your bike back to the dealer and ask them to plug it in. It will have been mated to the sepst module with your vin number if they used it.

For a stage 1, that's about right..
Next add for you would be the cams..
That would give you another bump of 7-10 ponies and about same in TQ.
However you would have to dyno-er again.

Price wise, you did ok..

They install a base map and it adjust's from there no dyno tune or anything, some on here don't like the thought of sending the ecm out but i've heard more good than bad about it.
Just put some mile's on yesterday for the first time with it and it ran great, plug's looked nice and tan. Just curious how it's gonna work when I do big bore and cam's!
A guy I work with has a 07 Dyna he bought used with a 2-1, K&N a/c, S&S 510 cams and a PCIII. He shopped around and ended up with the Rev Perf EMS as well. He really likes how it performs, used to have some decel pop, gone. Runs stronger than before. Its very early in the season here in OH but so far so good. No dyno, just set it up and ride. As far as future mods are concerned, any increase in displacement or significant change in cam profile would require the ECM be sent back to Rev Perf for programming but so what? As long as it can adapt to what ever you would want to do what elase could you want? I wish I could have got one back in 10/10 when I got my Pro tuner. Nothing wrong with any of these tuners mentioned in this thread but I would rather have the EMS.

Numbers are right where they should be, but with a good tune the bike will run great everywhere.

If people sing their praises based on good experiences they aren't drinking anyone's Koolaide.

They don't sell TTS or the Harley tuner (SEPST) but sell and support most others. There is no need to spend $1k on a tuner, and in fact I don't know of one that costs that much.

uuugh!! AFR's, VE tables, OP's, PCV's...kool-aid! I don't know what you guys are even talkin' about.

I keep reading all the threads and I am still lost.

I am just a guy with a '09 FXDC. I have a SE AC and V&H Straightshot Slip-ons. I just want it to run a bit better, run cooler and get the best performance for what I'm running at the moment...

The dealer says get the SERT and have them Dyno it. It'll cost about $460 for the SERT from them (I'm sure I can get it for less) and about $320 to get it Dyno'ed. I don't know, it sounds reasonable enough... You guys on here talk about the 763 other options...lol

If anyone needs me I'll be hanging from a rafter...lol

just do what makes you feel good.. its not a pissing contest.. no one is going to order a tts from peter and tell you to get a powervision from paul.. get what you can afford and what feels good to you.. i chose a powervision for the capabilities vs. price.. also i have free lifetime tunes with jamie at fuel moto.. could i have gotten 1.5 hp somewhere else? sure but jamie took great care of me and sent me a heck of a map and my bike runs like a champ.. im happy but more importantly.. i'm out riding my bike instead of measuring it up to others on the internet

just my .02
