EMS (rear cylinder cut off)

Again, many different perspectives on this topic. From mine, I see no reason to turn the EITMS off.
If your engine never gets hot enough to activate the EITMS, then there is no reason to turn it off as you will never know the difference since the EITMS will never activate.
On the other hand, if your engine is getting hot enough to activate the EITMS, wouldn't you want to know that? I do.
So I leave mine activated always and use it like an idiot light. If the EITMS kicks in then I know I either want to get moving, or in my case, turn on my engine cooling fan.

Yes I want it to work, and won't turn it off. What I was worried about was why my other bike with the same motor with an oil cooler didn't kick on,but this one does. I guess another thing to think about is this bike has lower fairings, and the RG didn't,probably another reason this one runs hotter at idle. That is why I love this forum, any issue or question you might have someone has the answer,so thanks to everyone.

Good points. I want to know too, but I watch OT and FCHT while most aren't into monitoring gauges to this extent. If you know when EITMS cuts in it will give you an indication of the ET at that point in time in the absence of any temperature gauges.
When I figure out where to install one I would like to do this too. I have air horns that prevent a conventional install on the left side and I don't want to get rid of them, but I've been thinking about a jury-rig of some sort using a small MC radiator fan or something. Fabrikator is working on a custom fan setup for his bike with possible commercial implications but I haven't heard much about that project lately. If I had more trouble with ET's I would place that as a higher priority, but I don't. Which fan do you have installed?

I'm going to be looking for a new fan type that I can install into the LeNale housing in my quest for higher reliability. I'm also going to study the possibility of making some bracketry so I can mount the fan to the bike frame rather than the engine in an attempt to isolate the fan from the engine vibrations better.
Even though the fan only lasted 1 year, it has given me so much knowledge of how well the concept works that I don't ever see myself running my bike without some type of cooling fan in the future.

iclick. I swear I'm working it. I just keep running into obstacles. Yesterday I finally recieved my lathe, some assembly required, wiring and reconfiguring my garage into a a small manufacturing facility. Got my welder too. I'm Currently sitting on all the supplies to complete 50 sets. The house I'm renting just went into forclosure, so now I'm trying to broker a deal to buy it. I'm in limbo until I get some word about this house, don't want to set everything up and then move in a couple months. I even got 100 of the main mount components CNC'd, Got about $15K wrapped up in parts/materials and another $5K in machinery, I'm definately moving forward just a little slower than I would like. Send me your pics so I can tinker with some ideas for your air horn set up.

I like how TTS handles ETIMS. Seems a better way than the stock set up. I, also, get it every once and awhile but as I tune the 120 in... less and less. I am like IClick... got a horn, but for the RIGHT fan, I would move the horn. I just looked online for my horn. It is a Strebel inside of a square chrome box, but it is three years old and looks like it is no longer available.
Depending on the various configs, I'm 'in' for one of 8ters fans. I will either move my Streble or mount it elsewhere on the Rat 120 Ultra.

Thanks, that does make me feel better. The main reason I'm worried is I had a 2011 Rg w/103. Same exact setup as far as stage1 on this bike. Never once did it kick in,even getting stuck in stop n go traffic in the middle of summer. Also my gas mileage was at least 10 mpg better, just wondering if that was some kind of correlation of something is not right with the bike.
