Question Monotube install advice wanted

I've got an 05 Road King Classic that is lowered an inch front and back and am going back to stock height. I'm going to install my own monotubes this week and I'm looking for any words of wisdom. I have the manual and have read several threads so I think I'm ready but still nervous about tearing the front off my bike.

Any words of wisdom from you pros out there? Any special tools needed? What seals should I need?

Just did my '11 Ultra Classic so could be some difference but the two tools I didn't have was a 1&3/8 in. wrench for the fork caps (got mine at TSC) and a long 6mm allen wrench for the plugs in the bottom of the forks. Loosen the plugs before removing the forks so the fork clamps can hold the forks for you.

Put blue painters tape on anything you don't want scratched i.e. front fender and frame rails it will save you from doing really stupid that will cause you to swear a lot...

While your in there.................I would recommend to replace the seals in there. I just replaced a lot of the internals that I was going to be reusing. Was not that expensive to replace. Dealer had it all in stock. There are some good step by step install threads on here. Just search if you need help. All in all not that hard of a job. Also its nice to have a second set of hands.

Thanks for all the advice. Finished the install without any major problems and no pieces left over. Now if it would quit raining and warm up a bit I could go test it out.
