Default Tour Pak Rear Bracket...How do I get Rid Of It??

I relocated my license plate to below the tailight and it looks good. However, The rear tour pak bracket where the plate mounted before looks fugly but supports the rear of the tour pak. Anyone know how to get rid of this and support the trunk??

Can you give me a part number? Also thinking about coming up with something to use as a cover.......like an old plate...or something more creative!

53303-07 will get you the whole kit. Kinda pricey for the sole fact of doing away with the plate mount though.

Really don't want to go to a detatch cause I like my trunk and there are too many wires to deal with. I have a plate from my first HD. 1977 Shovel, Texas plate reads 3RD 747....may put that on for now but wonder how law enfrcement would feel about it. Last licensed in 1986. I live in Cali now.

most of us who relocate the plates, do so because we use detachable tour paks.

an advantage of the stock plate mount position is that the plate is sometimes concealed from speed cameras

If you bought the detach kit, you wouldn't have to necessarily detach it. You could leave it on all the time. It will do away with having the plate mount support, but like I said, it's $300+ just to achieve that.

I had the same issue when I moved my plate. I did not want to spend the money on a quick detach since I leave my tour pack on all the time, so I made a custom bracket to replace the stock plate mount. I made the bracket look like it belonged there, painted it black, (my bike is black), and stuck a small Harley emblem on it. I am happy with the results and only cost me an hour or so of my time. Sorry, I don't have a pic and bike is in storage right now.
