Cash really isn't that big of a deal they get there $ both ways. I never use their sources for financing if I need it can always find better rates on my own and if they say they want to match it I say too late, you missed your chance unless you can do better which they never can.

Cash does not talk when it comes to sales of HDs.
They make more $$$ off of the financing than you realize and they know that.
Cash helps but it does not necessarily give you a better deal.

If the conversation is turning to shopping: check the classifieds here at the Forums, Craigslist etc.

If shopping a new bike, Montana has no sales tax on RV's ( incl motorcycles) and permanent plates.
A MT LLC can be set up for about $600, there are services which will set this up for you, walk your paperwork through the system, and mail you the plates.

Missoula H-D is pretty easy to deal with.

Just bought a 2012 Ultra Limited, Big Blue Pearl, I traded in a 09 road king. Love the ride -added a Zumo 665 and NIM, didn't come with saddle bag rails so the dealer moved them from my trade in which definitely finished off the look. GREAT ride!!!!

+1

Telling a dealer you are paying cash simply lets them know how little you know about buying any vehicle. NEVER tell a dealer you are paying cash, but rather lead them to believe you are going to take their financing. Tell them you decided to pay cash when they put you in the "box". That's the little office with the "business manager" who in reality, is a very good salesman who was promoted to that job.
