I have an 06 with 20 K on it. The dealer is working some numbers to swap me up to an 07. It's gonna cost me at least 3.5K. Is it worth the price. I also have the extended warranty on my 06 thatI can remove from the 07 to help with some of the extra costs.

My 06 has S/E A/C
S/E slip ons
Stage 1 Down laod
PCIII which will move to new bike
Luggage Rack
and some grips and assorted chrome peices.

07 would be bone stock so the $3.5K is just for the 96" and 6 speed tranny and then i get to deck it out again.

That depends, do you think the extra $3.5k worth it? For that money you'd be better off throwing that into a 95" kit that will blow the crap outta any stock bike, 07 or otherwise! You really don't gain alot when all is said and done, the 6spd is nice, but better ones can be bought (i.e. Baker). Now if you are upgrading from a different type of bike (say going from a Softtail to an UC - or Touring bike) then it might be more worth it, but going from an 06 UC to an 07 UC, I would tend to doubt it.

 

Keep ALL your add-ons, dealer won't give you much for them and they will fit the new bike. I traded in a '06 Road King on a '07 Road Glide, cost me considerably more than you are talking - and worth every penny. For under $4k (20% of the cost), you are getting a bigger motor, another gear, and 20,000 miles.....I'd jump on that deal!

 

How often have you been out on the road and been wishing for another gear; alot, almost never, or something in between? How bad doyou reallywant it is the bottom line.

But I agree with Teachu2, 3.5 difference doesn't seem like a bad deal. Is seems like all TC88 bikes resale values have been dropping very quickly.

 

If you are putting 20,000 miles a year on your bike you might like riding the flagship. I have no regrets on getting my Ultra.

 

If you can make the numbers work I would. The 07 will hold its value better take off all your extars and put them on the 07 or sell them on ebay.

 

To me $3500.00 sounds pretty good if your 06 has 20,000 miles on it. My Father-in-law has a 04 Ultra Classic with 22,000miles and the Dealer here is telling him $7000.00.
He is going to wait until the 08's come out next fall and then see if he really wants a new one or not.
But if I was you, I'd go with my gut. How bad do you really want an 07?????
