Mean City Cycles seat?
#51
I bought a 05 touring seat from a friend which had a MCC mod done. I liked it so much I had them do my Sundowner, very happy. Personally I'd rather spend a few dollars on shipping and have it done by someone who has done as many of these seats as they have. There is no substitution for experience, they know what works.

Gonna revive this thread after almost 2 years and ask a question. Getting ready to ship my stock 05 RK seat to them. Talked with Kevin and we've initially decided that I'm going with the standard memory foam mod retaining the original riding position.
What made you decide to go with double memory foam instead of the standard? Does more foam automatically equate to greater comfort?

Judging from what they say on the website the double memory foam option is;
a) for heavier riders
b) for riders looking for an ultra plush feel
Some people like "plushy" some don't.
Hopefully someone who has it will chime in.
I wanted comfort but also needed better footing on my RGU. I had the Super Narrow done to my stock seat (also a passenger memory foam mod with tail bone channel) and after 1200 miles to Nashville and back I can say that even the regular memory foam change made a huge difference. Comfortable at the beginning and the end of the ride. And I'm 225 lbs.
If inseam wasn't an issue or ride height MAYBE I'd consider the double, but it's likely not necessary in most instances.
