Street Glide OR Electra Glide

Street Glide OR Electra Glide
Hi,
Sold my heritage and looking for next bike (used). I really like the looks of the Street Glide and wonder what difference it would be to buy an Electra Glide Classic, remove the tour pack, and maybe even the cage around the bags. It could also be lowered I believe.
I do want abs.I'm in AZ
Any advice or info of the basic difference of a Street or Electra Glide?

Electra glide fully dressed imo holds more value, just depends on the look your going for. Do you want the bike cleaner looking, less chrome accents, a little higher or do you want it a little lower, fenders and bike a little less cluttered with chrome. Its all up too you. If I found a really good deal on an Eglide I would buy it and strip it if I wanted the SG look. Then sell off the parts to buy new acc. for the bike. Happy hunting there are allot out there right now 2003 and up I have seen them as low as 10k with decent mileage hell I bought my first 02 eglide for $8500 there out there. Good luck. I would make one recommendation I would try to stick with an 06 FI, 6 speed model if possible because I had an 88, carb, 5 speed and it cost so much to swap it all out to get the newer stuff.. just my opinion.

Same Bike 2009 EG Classic:
The EG Classic is easily swapped around for what ever you purpose is, around town or full on touring.
seat swap, controls, tour pak kit, fairing lowers- and the lower SG shocks can be swapped on in minutes, replaced by stock height for that trip to Sturgis
those saddlebags guards are pretty good for when that wannabe biker drops his awesome vulcan into your bike at the Hideaway
the streetglide model is a factory version of the common mods done by riders to the EG Std ( discontinued 2009)- at a premium price.
I paid 15K for this up in Kingman with 5k miles
and the abs is great on the dirt roads, 2nd photo is the apache trail

I went for whatever got me the best deal. I just picked up a low mileage 09 Electraglide standard for about 3,500 less than a similar StreetGlide. It already had a chopped windshield and they had started blacking out the bike.
It works for me and I got all the original parts so if I want a big windshield I have it.
For me there was not enough difference in the bikes to justify paying 3,500 more.
