Default Question about my new J&S Jack

I just received my new J & S Jack late this afternoon. I put it together, slid it under the bike and slowly lifted it up to the first stop. I have to tell you.... I was nervous.
It seemed rock solid and I even moved it around before lowering the Bike for the night.

Here's my question... The lifting instruction that came with the jack clearly state "line up rubber coated lift table toward the rear to go into the cross brace that is built under the frame".

The "into the cross brace" has me confused.... in particular the word "into". It doesn't look like there is anything to put anything "into".

I simply placed the jack under the frame tubes and lifted it up.

Can someone explain this to me?..... This is my first jack so I was nervous as Hell lifting it up. I actuall had the wife pump it up slowly while I prepared to grab it in case of disaster.

Am I over-analyzing this or is it really as simple as I did it?

Think your just over reading this. Slide it under and lift as you did. If it seemed balanced real well , remember the spot you slid it into and use that spot each time. But we share your concern. The first couple of time are hairy

It will be the most stable at the top, whenever I jack it up, it goes all the way up. But I agree, no need to over think.

Personally, I think going down is scarier than going up (not a commentary on quality in any way).

Thanks guys. I agree.... my question is in no way a statement on the quality of this jack. This jack is rock solid and well built.
It's really incredibly simple and high quality. I'll crank it all the way up after another time or two lifting it part way up.

I have no doubt that I am the problem here!!
