Default Short in the crotch

Have an '09 EGUC and have a bit of trouble flat footing at a stop. 'Bout dropped it a coulpe of time when the sand or cinders rolled from under my feet, but was able to save it. Not really looking to lower the bike as I can easily sharpen the foot rests as it is. Geuss that I'm looking for a lower seat. Really don't want to move forward any as I enjoy the ability to move around for leg comfort. Also have an isusue with most seats putting the hurt on my tailbone. I want the padding and comfort of an overstuffed seat but want the lowering effect so I can get both feet on the ground. Yeah, I iknow, I want my Kate and Edith too. Suggestions????

I shopped around (Forum/eBay) and found a practically unused "LOW" Ultra seat from a 2010 model. Fits my '09 and lowers seat maybe an inch. The front of the seat is narrower too so much easier to maneuver bike around in garage, parking, etc. Seat actually has "LOW" molded into the bottom of the seat pan so you know you are getting the newer LOW model.

Buy yourself some Red Wing or Georgia Giant logging boots with the Vibram sole. This will give you another inch of "leg length", plus the Vibram sole will resist the rolling you are experiencing with road debris such as sticks, sand, acorns, pebbles, pine straw, etc.

Here is a pic of the Georgia Logger boot:

Maybe these in combination with a new lower seat will be a big help.

I have a 2011 UC so I already had the 'low' seat. First thing I did was send my seat to Mean City and had it lowered more. With the price of seats I couldn't justify shelling out several hundred bucks just to see if a different seat would work. Seat is much more comfortable now and a 500 mile day is not a problem. In my opinion a MCC mod has the best chance for success at the best price plus they are great to work with.

I also think Mean City Cycle is a great MOD.
i sent my seat to them to lower it a cpl inchs and narrow it a cple inchs . it was only $18.50 with insurance to send the seat USPS. Allen shiped it back FedX $15 . i also had memory foam added for comfort . The seat came back looking great super comfy after the 600 mile breakin.500 mile days no problem.

Total cost including shipping both ways just under $150 THRIFTY
way cheaper than a new seat.

Mean City cycles is your cheapest option (~$150 -$250, depending on mod) over new/replacement seat...they can lower & move forward...call them!
