Default SS 583 EZ Start or Andrew 21 or 26 Cams?

I am debating which cam to get for my bike. Anyone with pros and cons with the two? Which is better and why? S&S or Andrews?

Cam upgrade is for a 2009 Street Glide with SE Racing Tuner, Stage 1 download, PM High Flow, 13K, V/H PowerDuals. Thunderheader tips, and V/H Throttlepak.

Which sounds and performs better?

Thank you!

Can't say anything for performance but the S&S Easy Starts will save your starter especially if you plan on adding compression later on. I just did a 107 build with the 551 Easy Start cams & didn't have to add compression releases. I'm now at 10.1 compression ratio & the bike turns over just as easy as stock.

I had 26's on my '07 and loved them, but if I were doing it now I'd take a serious look at the S&S cams unless you want to install compression releases. I eventually had to replace my starter clutch, not sure if the cams contributed or if it was the weak stock compensator.

I just put Andrews 21H cams in my bike and I really like them. I only got to ride it for about twenty minutes but they made a huge difference especially taking off they come on very early.

Lots of people are saying to get the Andrews 48H cam, its a newer cam. I found out that Wood cams are made by Andrews.

You really don't say anything about your riding style, what bike you have, how heavy you or the combined passenger load is, so its hard to say which is better.

Based upon my experience on one cam. Plus I have a totally different motor than you have, AND I have not intention of future motor upgrades. I can not say enough about how much I like the Andrews 21 for everyday riding. Tons of power where I want it. Lower in the RPM range. There is my $0.02.

I looked at Andrews 48, 21 and 26. Went with the 26 for my riding style and to avoid highlift compression issues. 21's would have been my second selection. Andrews are good quality products. Ride safe and often.

The 48 is a great choice for a cam only upgrade in a 96"er; IMHO, best cam for a cam only upgrade. Andrews doesn't "make" cams for Mr. Woods; Mr. Woods deesigns the cams, i.e., develops the profile/specs and Andrews grinds the cams to his specifications. Andrews grinds cams for TMan and many other cam vendors, IIRC, Andrews grinds cams for SnS but not sure. I know that Andrews supplys the gears to SnS for their gear drive kits so maybe cams as well? Maybe that's what you meant?

You signature inidicates that you are running a SERT and a V/H ThrottelPak; what's a ThrottlePak? Sounds like a tuner but so is the SERT.
