CVO Lower fairing speaker boxes installed
After seeing Harleypingman's install of the lowers with speakers https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ed-w-pics.html I decided I wanted to upgrade my speakers and add an amp. I took some picture's of the process installing the speakers into the lowers and thought I would share to help some others since the process of taking the glove boxes apart hasn't been detailed.
So I ordered a Rockford Fosgate Amp PBR300x4 and 4 Rockford Fosgate Power 6.5" speakers (T1S652). The CVO 6.5" lower speaker boxes. The wiring harness from the boxes and the GM Delphi/Packard GT 150 connector.
I used dragon fly adapters to install the 6.5" in the fairing.
Anyways onto the lower fairing speakers.
First I removed the lower's from the bike and removed the stock glove box and vent.
There is three torx screws you unscrew from the back of the fairing to remove the glove box.
You can see the three holes here.
Next remove the vent from the glove box by taking off he 7/16" nut. Then install it on your new speaker boxes.
Next install the speaker boxes into the lower fairings reusing the three stock screws.
Next per the Harley instructions drill a 3/8" hole.

Now route the wires into the boxes.
At this point I installed the lower fairings back on the bike and routed the harley wire harness.
I didn't have the correct tool to crimp the wires on the delphi connectors so i soldered the wire to the pins then used needle nose pliers to crimp the connector so it would fit in the socket.
It went together fine and made a solid connection.
I then heat shrinked the speaker wire.
.
Next I soldered the wires to the harness for the amp and ran them down the neck and along the engine guard as you can see here and put the disconnect near the stock harness.
At this point I installed the speakers into the lowers, I'm still waiting on Lake Shore to ship me the Harley grills and screws. But for now I'm just going to run the speakers without the grills. I hope the HD grills will fit because the tweeter on the speakers stick out a little further.
I'll update with more pictures once the HD grills show up

The tweeter location, however, will be directly behind the HD emblem in the grilles. FYI, HD uses a mid-range speaker w/o a tweeter in the SESG2/3 fairing lower speaker boxes.
A buddy gave me some grilles from another aftermarket vendor that don't have the emblem in the center and I may change out the HD grilles.
