http://www.tcbbrakesystems.com/). I was riding and during a light rain some *** hole pulled out in front of me and when braking by back wheel locked up and I was able to maneuver around the vehicle without wrecking my bike! With soiled underwear I decided to do something about this. I did allot of research and found that the TCB Braking System is the ticket for safer panic braking.

I just put one on my rear brake, but the weather is not letting me out to try it. The pedal feels like it has a lot more "squish" to it, witch is what I wanted. Time will tell but it seems like a great idea. My rear brake was very sensitive to lock up. Anything other than a gentile push and the tire would skid,. I'm hoping this dampens that issue!

Remember, these only work to absorb spikes in pressure aka panic stop. Hit some sand or ice and they won't do a damn thing, whereas ABS works like a charm. I tried my ABS recently on some sand and the action was smooth and easy.
Would I put these on a non-ABS bike? Probably. But these are situational at best.

After having my RKC sideways, in traffic in DFW while executing a panic stop due to an idiot in the middle lane braking from highway speed of about 65 m.p.h. to near 30 m.p.h. to try and cut across three lanes of traffic to the exit. After this incident, I resolved to find something to assist with the rear brakes on this bike. I have ridden various types of bikes from sport racers to dirt bikes for over 40 years and I attribute my ability to recover the machine to the skills that I learned and practiced but I think it would be foolish to depend on that every time.
Nevertheless, the rear brakes on this bike lock up in situations that are inconvenient to say the least. During my panic stop I could see the left side saddle bag in my peripheral vision and it should never have gotten that far. I remember a conscious thought to not hammer the front brake and I was able to modulate it and get the bike slowed down enough to let up on the rear brake to get the bike straightened out. That was not any fun and I am going to give the TCB a try on the rear. Hopefully it will absorb the first jolt of pressure from a sudden stop situation and keep the rear wheel from locking and becoming a major problem. I have always been a dual brake user and have often used brakes to make a bike I am on do certain things but I like to KNOW what it is going to do, not surprise me like an Amway salesman.
I understand what the TCB is supposed to do and that is to allow the rider to DECREASE stopping distance by preventing the wheel from locking up. Theoretically it does this by keeping the wheel rolling and allowing the brakes to be applied instead of locking up and skidding uselessly in a panic stop situation.
I am going to go down to the high school parking lot and measure some stopping distances prior to installing the TCB and then after to see if it really has a positive affect on the braking distances. I have an open mind about this and see the wisdom in it, hopefully it will work as advertised. Either way I will report my experience here.

I put one on the rear only of my 07 SG after having issues with the rear wanting to lock up easily. So far it seems to work ok, though as others have said if you want to, you can still lock it up. In my experience with it only on the rear brakes, it seems to provide a decent buffer to keep the brake from wanting to lock up easily and still providing sufficient stopping power. With that said, I am also not convinced I just do not pay more attention to my braking habits since I installed it, which also might help. I have and always do use both sets of brakes when braking, but this item does seemed to have helped my lock up problems I was experiencing frequently with the rear of the SG.
