Maybe we should designate Feb. 29th as National 'Hit Your Rev Limiter Day'.

I've hit mine a few times but now that the bike is at fuelmoto getting there 107" kit done I will be trying to get some kind of tach or at least a shift light of some kind that way I'll be able to keep an eye on the rpm's

my 27k touring bike is shifted at 27k and it curses down the freeway at 28k-3k max. if i wanted to race, id ride a rice. i have no need, nor desire to hit my limiter.

Motor makes no power up there anyways. I try to avoid it, bike sounds like it wants to grenade at those rpm levels

My 'rev limiter' just pokes me in the ribs when she's had enough! I don't EVER hit her... she's packin'...

I do a few times a month, used to hit it on my softail all the time, I sold the bike at 40,000 miles and the current owner has almost 50,000 on it now. Still runs great, no oil use.

The limiter is there to keep the engine from coming apart, its not going to hurt it to hit those rpms once in a while. I agree on our V Twins in most cases the power has dropped off long before you hit the lmiter.

When Im out with the guys draggin fer beers sometimes I miss a shift and over rev, thats why the rev limiter is there as a safety. I dont think anyone would hit it on purpose, it certainly doesnt make you faster.
