aftermarket Fairing Question
#13
I bought a Reckless from eBay and I am 100% satisfied with it. I do have the frenched brow trim though which does make a difference in looks. You sort of need that extra space that looks weird so it fits correctly and doesn't rub on the nacelle. I doubt anyone else notices or pays any attention to that when they drool over your ride anyway.

I had the Dragonfly fairing on my 2000 Road King Classic....not the best front view picture but thats it. I did have the trim rings on my headlight and driving lights. I can't comment on the other brands, the first fairing dragonfly shippped me was messed up where the speakers bolted in, so they had to reship me another, took awhile with a couple phone calls but the second one was perfect. I had it custom painted to match the rest of the bike and had the radio controls added to work with the radio.....had problems with the cd skipping bad but the radio and satellite worked great with the 6x9 speakers, quite loud. I don't think they had the best mount for the radio to keep it solid. It was definitley very solid when it was mounted though. JMO

I have the dragonfly and love it I bought a amp last year for it and mounted it on top of the radio and made some strap mounts everything is snug I didn't like the clips on top for the windshield mount the fiberglass holes on the bottom opened up so I epoxy puttied some steel behind for a better fastener that is the only bad plug for it for me

So, I might have posted this already, but go to;
RNR Custom Cycles (http://www.rnrcustomcycle.com/)
And look under "Products & Bikes For Sale"
and you'll see the bracket kit they offer to mount the early
style Batwing on a Heritage (or Roadking)
This may not be the route everyone wants to go, but THIS is
how a batwing should look on a Heritage (or other FL Softail)
The kit is over 3 bills. I'm gonna probl do it. My batwing came off
a late 80s FLT? Not 100 % positive
But the brackets don't line up with my forks (at all)
I need to make sure their kit will work with my fairing shell since
it's not pre-84 FL.
