Default Not too Impressed with DDM HID Lights.....

Well I spent the money and bought the DDM 35W HID lights for my Streetglide. They are in the 4500 color. Put them in and first thing I noticed was interference while listening to the FM radio. Doesnt bother it with IPOD or CD playing. Yall can preach all you want about the ballast being digital or whatever but I HAVE INTERFERENCE. I can flip the lights to hi-beam, which turns the HID's off and it goes away. Going down the road its not that noticeable because the wind drowns it out some and it doesnt seem to have interference all the time.

Ok lets get to night riding. Road one time down to the store and they just didnt seem to have the projection the stock light does. And DAMN sure dont have the peripheral light the stock light did to light the ditches up some. At this point I thought they just needed adjusted up some so I came back and put them up some, still not the projection that the stock light has. Granted right in front of the bike is bright as hell. I have had no one flash me yet so Im thinking Im gona adjust it up some more and see if it helps but ran out of time before the work week rolled around.

I have these in my Polaris RZR and when I flipped them on I was like WOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!! Not the case on the Harley.

If I cant get them where I like them without blinding everyone Im pulling them out. Whats the best recommended factory replacement bulb if I do decide to take them out? Will keep this post updated as I adjust them.

hella e code housing,35$ and it is a nice improvement over stock, bulbs are everywhere(I'm using a hella 55\100) the high performance bulbs are brighter but typically don't last to long, there is one company claiming high output with longer life can't remember there name sorry.

Wow, this has to be the first time I've read that HIDs are not as bright as OEM, I have the total opposite. I tried the brighter bulb from HD, Silverstars, and PIAA's, my HID outshines all of them. Why doesn't your HID work with the high beem, did you not get bixenons? That might be part of the problem.

Mine is only a single bulb. If you want highbeams you have to get something that slides the HID's out and in to place them on a different part of the reflector shield. Not sure how that works. I want to try and adjust them up but thats still not gonna help with the ditch lighting that the stock light provides.

I have had mine from DDM for 2 years & like it a lot. Much brighten than OEM. Had to adjust, look into adjusting correctly.(don't have book here) I think make mark on wall 25" from Center of headlight up?. I also went with the HID High/Low beam.

Ive got the book, but didnt know how accurate it would be with HID lights. Im not totally throwing the idea out just didnt have the WOW factor like they did in Polaris RZR. The RZR is INTENSE!! But they are 55W in both sides. I only have a single 35W on the SG.
