Got a call from the custom shop doing my estimate.

$8,853. After deductible Ill have $8353 to play with.


Looking to go with:

• Bad Dad Stretched Bags
• Bad Dad summit all-in-one fender with eliminator kit
• Sinister side covers
• 21'' DNA 52 spoke wheel with matching dual rotors
• Bad Dad FL fender
• New floorboards, shifter,brake pedal
• solo seat
• 14''-16'' Apes
• Bad Dad Long Strokes exhaust or V&H big radius(depends on if I go with dual cut outs or no cut outs on bags/fender)

Im heading there tomorrow once they get the check to start laying out the plan and ideas. Have to figure in labor and paint.

As far as apes Im looking at Wild1, LA Choppers, and cyclesmiths. I want Yaffe but they are pricey and shop said they charge more on labor bc they are a PITA. Floorboards Ill probably go with your basic floorboards. Want Bad Dad,etc but trying to put that money into other stuff. Seat will probably be a LePera or Danny Grey.

Ok got with the custom shop here is a list of all the mods/work getting done to the bike

-Bad Dad shaved stretched saddlebags(no hardware,latches,etc)
- Bad Dad touring all-in-one fender
-stock side covers
-powder coated/painted primary cover,dash,horn cover,levers,floorboards,air cleaner and headlight ring
-14'' black ape hangers with black vinyl cables
-possibly PC or painted front wheel( I will get a 23'' shortly)
-Inferno Orange Metallic paint. Inner fairing painted as well.

Going down tomorrow to go over everything and pick up check for helmet.

Possibly can get more stuff. Have to crunch more numbers.

 

Make sure to post some before, during, and after pics. Sounds like your taste is a mirror image of mine. Except you have a budget and I dont right now!!

Yeah having a budget sucks. BUT $8900 from the insurance is pretty good.

I was going to stick with black but I took the opportunity to get the paint done now since 95% of bike needs painting anyways. I think the orange is going to look bitchin'.

I am looking into having HD emblem on tank removed and have the traditional HD emblem airbrushed or the 1961-1962 FL emblem painted. Also on fender above light Im wanting to POW MIA symbol. Im getting with shop tomorrow to go over more.

 

You should make sure you get the IDS Sprocket installed.

 

Yaffe Apes stop at 12'' right? I think shop said they looked at them, but I asked for 14+. I want my hands at or slight above fairing.

On down the road will be solo seat,rinehart exhaust(or others, who knows), 23'' wheel with triple trees, crash bars and pegs and motor work and Ill be good to go.

I got most of the bike complete with this setup.

I guess a "bad day"(wreck) can have great outcomes.

And all that talk about premiums shooting sky high, has never happened to me. Ive had a car stolen, hit in parking lots, etc and nothing. Im not worried about all that. I even accidently ran over a car(escort) with my jacked up 2500 diesel. I turned out of stall a little early. And never has my premium gone up. I just posted this about premiums bc I figured someone would come in saying it wil

 

 

Its in the shop and nothing has even been started. Insurance check will be there tomorrow. Ill try and get some pics posted. Ill have shop do pics as they build(so I have pics and they can put on their site possibly). But I dont know If I want to see pics. I want to be amazed when its done.
