Mufflers explained
I want to learn what years did the mufflers have cats in them? What year did the cat move to the head pipe? What years mufflers fit a 2010 Street Glide?. I am looking for mufflers that are the same FLOW on both sides. The idea is the SS header with some stock mufflers and shop e bay for some good take off mufflers. The muffles flow a little better in the years with cats in the head pipe? Years of loud bikes and I work in a very loud environment I just need to tone it down. I have V&H big shot duals on now and they are on my last nerve.....

Been a problem for some time and going to google chrome instead of IE helped a lot. Yes, they used to put the Catalyst in each muffler with the late year models installing them as a perminent install right smack dab in the middle of the header after the 02 sensors. Many, myself included surgically remove the offending blockage then maticulously weld it back together eliminating the dreaded heat problem youve read about. Once everyone starts to chime in, you will learn which models are affected, I believe Touring models from 2010 up but am prob wrong.

most header designs will not flow the same both sides. gasses follow the path of least resistance and on the current stock headers the right side is a straight shot, the left side requires a couple of bends. on the older Y rear header, the front and 1/2 the rear fed the right side and 1/2 the rear fed the left

and you have changed the header?
and are looking to change it again?
I'm not quite following your original post, but I know about loud work environments.
If you want complete control of the sound the supertrapp supermegs will do it- while offering great performance.
the good news is that the screaming eagle nightsticks are made for harley by supertrapp and are less expemsive, they just need a disc and end cap kit to tune them.
a few riders with 2010+ models report good results with the stock mufflers after removing the cat- that is easy on the wallet
option would be 49 State 2009 headers ( no cat), but you'd need o2 sensor bung adapters

I bought the bike new. I have stock 2-1 with the night stick. Then i tried fuel moto 2-1 head pipe with night stick i did not like the 2-1. I then bought vance and hines big shot duals and put the quite baffles. I have tunners i have TTS and the power vision being able to get it tuned is non issue. I am looking at the SS header and it is a cross over type head pipe and it has both 18 and 12 o2 bungs. Perfect for wide bands with the power vision. I was thinking SS head pipe with maybe some SE take off from a cvo bike. I think i am pretty close to figureing it out. The more i looked at mufflers the more differances i started to notice. I guess i am just getting older and work enviorment has made me like my loud pipes less.
