I want to lower my bike a bit and am working with a budget. I am looking at either the Progressive 412's or 430's. Wondering if anyone has experience with both and if the 430's are worth the extra $150. Progressive recommended the 440's but they are too expensive and I have heard many stories about them leaking. Any thoughts/suggestions based on experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Also, as stated above, I am working with a budget so please no comments regarding other manufacturers or brands. I am not going to send $500+ on shocks.

Between the 2 the 412 are better than the stock shocks but they are progressives low end shock, Ive seen a lot of riders that like then because they are better than the stockers. If I was between the 2 (412 or 430) Id definitely go 430, the 430 use a different damping set up and are a better design.
The best selection are the 440 or 940 . I dont know where you are shopping but the 440 are available for less than 450.00 and 940 are available for 459.00 at either US Motoman or Direct Harley parts. The 412 can be found for about 205.00 and the 430 for 350.00

Thanks everyone. I really want/need to stay within a $350 or lower budget which puts the 430's at about my top. The 412's are obviously much easier on the wallet but I don't want to buy something cheap just because its cheap. If the 430's are worth the extra $150 when I'll spend the money, but if the 412's are just as good of a shock or very close to performance (I don't want to pay extra for cosmetics and a slight upgrade that I'll never notice), then I'd rather get the 412's, save the extra coin, and put some cash towards a set of monotubes for the front.
thanks again.
thanks again.
