Yes I ride often in the dark-
I love going up in the mountains here in Ga and NC at night. Go ride the Dragon at night, less people, less LEO's, and feels great in the summertime. Take 276 out of Waynesville, NC to Brevard and return on 215 or the BRP.. If that dont get the blood pumping in the dark, nothing will.

In my younger days yes - not so much anymore. I don’t feel 100% comfortable and I don’t just mean the increased chance of an animal strike. It is decreased depth perception, glare of on-coming headlights and general reduced reaction time by the limited line-of-sight.

I can certainly do it but I would not plan a ride on purpose that involved nighttime riding for any length of time.

Not many folks do ride at night, so why invest $1000.00 for those LED head lights...don't make since. I however, just upgraded my 01 FLHTC sealed beam to the new style Holagens and got the Silver star bulbs. Great improvement to get me to the next bike night.

I love night riding but it is very dangerous here the deer population has more than tripled. Even though I am aware of that & try & be as carefull as possible I still had a collision with a deer summer before last. At 2:15 AM it is a good think that I wasn't injured any worse than I was, its hard to tell how long I would have been there waiting for help if I was hurt bad. There was no cell signal either.

The LED lights ran me around $430 for the headlight and spots, and made a world of difference with night riding.

I love riding at night, animals suck but still worth it. Cant beat one of them 11 at night rides around the lake or out to the river type back country roads..Deer are everywhere around here so you learn to stay alert.

there use to be a ride at the end of July on the north side of Chicago called the Midnight Tour, it went around 75 - 100 miles, it ended at a bar on the southwest side out in the middle of nowhere, it was amazing how many bikes would end up in a corn field because they would out drive there lights ( mostly sport bikes and the riders had never rode outside of the city)

I don't ride my usuall hill country rides at night. Pretty much local and freeway. No light on the rodes I usually ride on and deer are a killer out here for bike riders.
