Keep Those Eyeballs Moving

Not knowing about this (which is good info), I've trained myself to always be looking around while driving anything. Car, bike, etc, etc. I've been in quite a few car accidents to have trained myself to try to always know what's going on around me at all times. So when I started riding bout 7 years ago now, that way of thinking naturally transferred over. So if I'm in any amount of traffic, and I'm in my car or on my bike, I'm always looking at what everyone else is doing front, back, sides, as best I can. You just never know.
Good stuff db, and since you've served let me add a great big THANK YOU for your service to our country!! I will always support our military.

Those mind games are all over the internet and have absolutely no relationship to riding or driving. Guess we should all be on the look-out for rotating grids and such.
And staring at a potential target makes it disappear? How the hell would we ever be able to shoot the target if we used only our peripheral vision?
Come on now boys....get a grip.

Likewise, if you're riding your bike and fixating on the vehicle in front, you won't see a yellow dot, a car that may be pulling out in front of your or turning left in front of you.
Keep your eyes moving: scanning outward and back, and checking the mirrors.
Ride safe, Leftcoaster.

YOU MISSED THE POINT--The point is that if a driver is fixating on the car in front of them, for example, and you, on your bike, happen to be one of the yellow dots, the driver of the car won't see you.

You've got to be kidding....
Thanks for the redundant explanation and I appreciate your concern for my safety.
Right back at ya.

Here's my analogy: Never in my life have breasts disappeared while I was ogling a great rack. Both the left and right were visible at all times, no matter how long I stared.
Got my grip back now.
