I have the Biketronics one, pretty much sucks. I also noticed that with my retro radio kit there is a antenna cable with a yellow wire, where does that hook up to.
I'm pretty sure that yellow wire IS the antenna- the intent is to snake it up along the inner fairing. I never bothered trying it...and I use XM or mp3s more often than anything else. Terrestrial radio around me isn't too good (only 3 rock stations, and 2 are low-powered), so I don't use it too often.

The yellow wire is the antenna. They tried a bunch of antennas and found that works just as good as any of them (so they say). I tried it and it did work pretty good, but not as good as the stock antenna. If you are in a place with poor reception the difference in reception will be noticeable. Just put the stock antenna inside your fairing, why go out and buy a new one when you already have one, just relocate it.
any photos of how a 2009+ SG looks like with the Harley re-location kit for antenna.. putting on a tour pak this summer... after much reading on forum.. dont trust the in fairing antenna's... might try the stock antenna inside fairing option before spending $$$...
I have a Metra powered antenna in the fairing and it's fine for FM stations, but sucks for some AM stations. That was with the HD radio. During my winter project while replacing the radio, I got a splitter so I can run the Metra in the fairing and a short rubber duck, hidden in the OEM location. I also got a better ground for the Metra. Lets see if that helps with the AM...I need to get my 1050AM for when I'm running a little late on the Sunday rides and the Jets are kicking off...lol
I used the HD bracket for the radio on the left side and made a bracket for the right. Used two small rubber antenna's. I wondered if the hidden ones (both pictured, especially CB) worked any better.
