People this is very simple!

Bias = Harley

Radial = NOT Harley

Thanks. You confirmed what I found with my research. Both tires from JP Cycles for $263.00 with Free shipping.

we need more options. we don't have many choices right now. and the tire that comes stock on our bikes is only available through the dealer. i replaced both front and back on my bike a few months ago before a road trip and it ended up costing me $650 happened to be about 2 weeks after they cancelled the $1.00 per tire install special.
Ouch ! $650.00 for two tires installed ? Reason # 23 why I am doing mine myself !

yeah, and then to add insult to injury, the front tire developed the dreaded sidewall cracking within 3 months. good thing the dealer stepped up and replaced the tire, with 0 labor charge.....

The HD dealers here in North VA wanted $850 for my last RK Custom tires and installation.

I'm going to risk it and run the E3 bias in front and an American Elite Bias in the rear.
I can't find the load rating for the front 130\70-18 E3 on the Dunlop web site but being Bias ply it should handle my Street Glide. And the 180\65- 16 is the correct replacement for my stock rear so i know that will work. Can't see any harm mixing the two????

i can't remember the reason why the dunlop rep didn't recommend doing that. i can't see it, they both have the same load rating (the elite 3 and the stock d408 (63h=600@41psi), and the tread doesn't look like it would be incompatible....

the american elite rear, and the multi compound rear also have the same load rating, 81h (1019@42), so i really don't see why this wouldn't work.

maybe call just to verify? 800-845-8378 if it works, i know what i'm doing next time around. if they haven't come out with a new 18'' tire yet. i really don't want to pay that much again.

just got off the phone with dunlop. the rep does not see any problem using the american elite in the rear and the elite3 in the front. he also confirmed that there are no plans for an 18'' tire in the american elite line until at least spring of 2013.

so i guess next time i need tires, i know what route i'm gonna be taking. i wonder why the last rep i spoke with did not recommend doing this combo? i could have sworn it was because of the load rating, but they are both rated the same (stock vs e3)....

I called and covered all the load ratings and sizes this morning with Dunlop as well and same thing, no issues. Received my front E3 yesterday and get the American elite in the morning.
