I have the Hawg Wired 4 in the face , 300W amp and 4 speakers , the 6 pack he bought isn't far behind what I have , the main thing with HW is clarity and volume

No problem with the thread jack. I'm curious too if they turned off the AVC. Just one question, what's an AVC?

Thanks for the link. I will talk to Wayne, as you and others suggest doing.

Go this route and you wont regret it. It sends a shitpile of sound towards your face and looks clean as hell. best money spent. I have 2 hawg wired PCS3004 runing those two sets of 6.5 in the fairing, and a set of 6.5 in the lowers and 6x9s in the lids.

The amp instructions tell you to turn off AVC auto volume control

After reading the ARC website I have the older MPAK 6 system speakers. I didnt turn my automatic volume control off. I have never had a issue
I have the boom speakers now and they are better than stock, but now i would like a little louder.
As for turning off the AVC,that's what the directions read, don't know their reasoning. As always, the members on the forum have either tried or ran into just about any scenario that you can think of, and as always, come up with a good fix
I've been riding the 2010 RG with a 19" windshield all winter, and the audio is needs to be on max volume to be heard at highway speed. I know when I switch to the 5" shield in the spring the audio is really going to suffer.
Wow...a 19" shield on a RG Custom? You must be looking through the shield. Anyway, last summer upgraded my factory audio to a Hog Tunes 2-channel with Amp and two 5x7's. It was a huge improvement. With a 12" shield, I was able to hear the tunes on the freeway no problem. I wasn't looking for a Car Show winning audio system....I just wanted to be able to hear my mp3 tunes on the freeway without distorting due to excessive volume. At some point I may upgrade to a 4-channel 5x7 set up utilizing the bag lids, but I'm good for now.
