Default Gps mount ..for relocation

Got a zumo 550 on the garmin supplied mount bracket which bolts to the handlebar collar via the 2 mount screws.

I'm changing the bars to 16 inch apes and I dont want the gps way up there.....

Basically I need a handlebar clamp mount to snap the garmin housing into.

Dealer said look at Ram Mount.

I looked at them and the way it mounts to the bar with a single u bolt looks cheap to me. The ram mount itself looks good but I'm not used to using "hardware store" type u bolts on my bike.

Anyone else know of better quality mount?
Thanks

Default What you can try.....

I know you might shutter at this but, you can
get a ball mount and drill hole at top of inner fairing.
Buy short arm and snap mount for GPS.
You will be able to remove when needed and
you can buy a chrome ball that will
not look too bad

I have the RAM GPS handlebar mounting bracket and find it just top notch quality. I'm not too concerned about the fact that a U-Bracket was used. First of all, it held the total cost down, and secondly it's was completely functional and matched the black color of the mounting ball making it unnoticable. Also, I like the adjustability rest of the RAM mounting hardware, especially the short are and its infinate angled positions relative to the handlebars and then how you can angle the GPS towards your face.

Then you know what I'm talking about when I said I was a little taken back by the u bolt right?

Ok if you think it's a good mount I'll go with it.

I was just looking for a more beefed up clamp ya know? Thanks

Look up Motomount. Has the same 1" ball as Ram, and use ram arms.

Take a look at these. Very nice quality, and not that hardware store look.

I have the motomount on the handle bar of my 07 EGC. This thing is excellent, money well spent and it looks good as well.
