Thanks for the ideas, All
I'll start getting into it this weekend. Can't hurt to at least get it going and see if I can fix it myself.
I just called HOG Roadside Assistance and was happy to hear that I do not have to have it towed to a dealer only like I thought. There's a local indy with a good rep in case I'm out of my league.
The real bummer is that I just installed - and I mean just tightened the last bolt before my brief ride - a 17" Hogpro solid ala Fat Boy chrome front wheel on the bike.
So my bike looks great ... it just doesn't move. I start a new thread with photos of that Hogpro solid chrome front wheel when my spirits lift again.

clank! clank! clank! ... coast ... clank! clank! clank! ... coast ... clank! clank! clank! ... coast ...
I figured whatever damage was already done, and I just didn't want to call for a tow so close to home, or push that behemoth up even the small grades on the way.
Got plenty of attention from cagers, and probably a few laughs about Harley's always breaking down/should have bought a Honda/etc.
Oh, well. I got thick skin.
